A New Year. A New Yes.

Proverbs 3:5 NKJV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.
A new year often brings new goals, new ideas, and new expectations. But before any of that takes shape, God invites us into something deeper. He calls us to a new yes. Not a yes driven by pressure or fear. Not a yes rooted in trying to figure out everything on our own. A yes that simply trusts Him.
Trust is not passive. It is an active surrender. It means releasing the weight of what we cannot control and embracing the truth that God sees what we cannot see. A new yes requires a new posture. Less leaning on our own understanding. More leaning on His wisdom, His timing, and His direction.
There will be moments this year that stretch your faith. There will be decisions that require obedience. There will be doors that open and some that close. In every moment, God is not asking for perfection. He is asking for your yes. Your willingness to trust Him with your whole heart. Your commitment to follow Him even when the path is not clear.
A new year does not automatically bring change. But a new yes can. When you say yes to God, you say yes to peace, clarity, strength, and purpose. You say yes to the Potter shaping you again. You say yes to the journey He has prepared for you. This year will be different because your yes is different.
Thought Questions
What is God asking me to trust Him with this year?
Where do I need to pull back from leaning on my own understanding?
What does a new yes look like in my daily life?
Short Prayer
Lord I give You a new yes for this new year. I choose to trust You with my whole heart. Lead me guide me and strengthen me as I surrender every plan and every step to Your will. Amen.
